Ellowyne Wilde and friends

Well, now its time to show off my teenager dolls - Ellowyne Wilde.  So, let me tell you the backstory of how I found out about this doll.  One day, I came to work and someone had left a magazine on my desk.  And I found out that it wasn't just any ole kind of magazine - it was a magazine with dolls!  I got so excited!  I didn't even take the time to find out who had left this treasure on my desk. OMGosh!  When I started turning the pages, I was instantly in love!  I wanted these dolls too!  So, when I got home I got on the computer and went to Tonner doll website and the rest as they say is history!

My first look at Ellowyne -

Baroque and Dreams - aka Brittany
she was my 2nd Ellowyne doll.

Solitary Sojurn
my 5th Ellowyne doll
when I saw this picture, that's when
I knew she was the next doll to buy.
She was renamed Patience.

Always Playing Solitaire
was my 4th doll

My plan was to keep ONLY 10 DOLLS!
And I did that, but I saw other dolls
that I wanted and my hubby always said
if you want something new, you have to
get rid of something old.  So, that's what I
did!  I sold three of them and gave the rest
away.

I just realized how late it is and I
have to get myself together for
tomorrow.  Will save for now and will
come back tomorrow and finish the rest.

Good night! Pleasant dreams.

------------------------------
Yeah, right!  You know I never came back!  I couldn't remember my email address or the password.  It took me a long time.  But now I'm back, reading, laughing and updating.  This gal was the first African American friend that Ellowyne met.  They both were at the office of Dr. Bantam, who is a psychiatrist.  And was treating Ellowyne for her ennui.  (Which is another word for melancholy). Lol!  This gal is Lizette Dionne.  She hails from Louisiana.  Her Mom and Dad moved from there, taking Lizette with them and away from all her friends and everything she knew, to go and live in another place.

As you will see Lizette has changed......

A walk down memory lane, Part 2

Posting pics - will tell the story later.  Got to do my household chores, right? LOL! (Okay, I'm back, ah years later.  8/20/2023).  So, you see this gorgeous doll?  This was my first look at Evangeline Ghastly.  When I first saw her, I fell in love with her right away.  I really tried NOT to buy this doll, because the only thing I didn't like about her was her hands.  They are very large.   I love her face paint.  She looked normal to me, not like a freaky ghoulish doll.  I love the expression on her face.  You can tell she's very quiet and keeps to herself along with the friends she grew up with.

Evangeline Ghastly - Visiting Frogmore
                                                                        Close-up

                                                                 Redressed

Seeing thru the Darkness - this is a wigged doll, painted eyes with eyelashes attached. Blonde wig.  My plan was to switch bodies, only after she came, I realized that they do not have the same skin tone!!  Now I have two of these dolls!

My plan at the time, was to only have one of these dolls.  But keep on reading.  There's more to this story.

Brunette wig - renamed Ginger.  Let me show you how versatile she is!
Believe it or not, these dolls can wear each other's wigs.  Which is so cool, because it's like having more than one doll!

Trying on some of Evie's clothes!

I love this wig on her and this outfit!

After I bought her some new clothes and shoes!
You know that song, "I'm too sexy for my shirt!?"  Well.
I played with her a lot!
Guess what?  I grew to love this gal too!  She's so different than all the dolls except for the ones like her.  G  I  N  G  E  R!!!!

I love how different she looks with
each new wig I put on her!  It's like
her personality changes!

She looks ethereal.  Sigh....

A walk down memory lane

I've been on Ebay looking for shoes for my dolls.  Everything is so expensive right now.  Sheesh!  $16.00 for one pair of ankle boots and they're made in China.  But nobody else is even making shoes for my gals.  The ones I do have are starting to fall apart.  My plan a couple of days ago was to buy a doll that I sold many years ago because I was buying larger sized dolls.  I went from 12.5" to 10" to 16", 17" and 19" dolls.  So, just so I can remember those happy and relaxed days, here's some pictures of the dolls when I was first introduced to the bigger dolls.

Lara Croft - Legend doll, 17" with the Dee Ann Denton athletic body.  She was the doll that started it all!

The one on the right was the first doll Lara.  The one on the left is the second doll, Lana.

This one is Full Throttle Lara Croft.  I got her in this ensemble.

Then I decided to get my 1st Lara Croft a boyfriend, so I got Will Turner from the Pirates of the Caribbean.  Aka Orlando Bloom.
When I took him out the box - I fell in love! (LOL!)  He has long, thick hair and is GORGEOUS with that little goatee on his HANDSOME face.  (Okay, I'm calm now.)  After he saw Lara, it was love at first sight!  They've been inseparable ever since.  (Side note:  if you look up Orlando Bloom, this doll looks EXACTLY like him 3/11/22)

The dolls on the left are the second dolls that I acquired.  This is the original Lara Croft doll.  She has the reddish brown hair color (as in the video game), but she came here 2nd so I had to change her name. She's Lana Croft and Lara's twin cousin.  Her guy is from Tonner's King of Hearts Collection, I renamed him Jeremy.

Here are the cousins' just hanging out with each other!

Here they're hanging out with the other dolls that I acquired!

I found some pictures of Lara redressed and ready to party!

After these dolls, I really became enamored with more bigger dolls, and I found these gals...
This is the Cami doll, 16".  I got her for my birthday.  She was my "after Cancer" doll. I meant dolls.

 Here's Jon.
This is a dressed doll.  When I got both of them, they were wearing camisoles with matching panties and high heeled shoes.  Unfortunately, those earlier pictures are in a photo album that I have at work.  If I remember tomorrow, I'll take pictures of her photo shoot and load them here when I get home.  She was renamed Nadirah.
Let me tell you something, all these dolls were created by Robert Tonner!  I was so late in collecting these dolls, but when I did - look what happened!
So, I wanted some teenage dolls to be their friends, because I figured they were in the same age group. That's when I found Ellowyne Wilde.

Invisible Ink aka Indirah

Essential Ellowyne Brunette aka Eleanor

Tiny Expectations aka Tine'a

Introducing Lizette Dionne, the first AA friend of Ellowyne Wilde.  This was the teaser shot.

Here she is after I redressed her.

This is the 2nd Lizette.  Basic doll. (Really?)  No, she's the first of many other dolls to come.  This doll is a wigged doll.  Yep, that's right.  She's wearing a wig!  And there are so many of those, just you wait and see!

Basic Lizette aka Angel.  And wearing a new wig!
The second wig
This gal is my 2nd wigged doll

I renamed her Monique.

Essential Amber Brunette aka spoiled rotten!!
Amber:  I am not SPOILED ROTTEN!! I'm just better!
Me:  Who are you yelling at little girl?
Amber:  Sorry.  But I'm not spoiled rotten.  I just AM!
Me:  I don't even want to know what that means. Lol!

Indirah

This gal was Baroque N Dreams - get it?  Broken Dreams! I redressed her and renamed her Brittany.  She's no longer here.  She lives with a new person (someone who is not a doll collector!)

I have so many stories to tell about these dolls.  I just don't have enough time.  So I'm going to put all their pictures here (so I don't lose them) and come back later to finish up this post.  Hmm, maybe I'll just do a Part II page.  Yeah, that's what I'll do.

Later,
STAY BLESSED!

When I be playing

God has blessed me with another day, 9/19/2020.  It is gorgeous outside!  Beautiful fall weather, lots of sun and a whole lot of noise from the workers doing their drilling at 10:30 am in the morning!  The kind of day that makes you want to crawl back under the covers and catch up on some shuteye! :D

Not for me though.  I'm up looking at pictures of my dolls.  I haven't made any jewelry this week - I even had the nerve to find a free gift of beads from my favorite store still in the mailer that I got last week!! Smh...  Anyway, I need to get dressed and take my gals out for some photo shots.  But someone is giving me a hard time trying to put their boots on.

Serena:   I am not!!  You said the zipper was stuck.

Me:        Yeah, I did say that - didn't I?  (Gosh, you can't even say anything around these gals.  They hear everything! Sheesh!) LOL!  I was supposed to be getting one of my pliers so I can pull up the zipper.  But now

Serena:   Why are you looking at me like that?  You got the pliers, please put on my boot.

Me:          Hmm, I'm thinking you need a different outfit.  Its really cold out there.  Actually you both need a different outfit.  And I need to do something with your hair.

Charlotte:  Huh? groan....I like my outfit, we don't get cold.

Me:          Ah, no.  I like you both to look gorgeous when I take you out.  So, I'll have to change your outfits again

Charlotte and Serena (protesting in unison):  Wha!?  No!!  We like our outfit!!

Me:          Unless you want to stay home, I can take Elizabeth and Olivia.  They're already dressed in the right outfits.

Charlotte and Serena glance at each other and then look at me with a downcast face.

Har Har Har the owner always wins!!

Tiny Kitty memories

Sometimes I don't think of how I will feel in the future when it comes to these dolls.  I think that's bad because when you start showing off pictures of your dolls on or when you see pictures - you begin to get a little sad.

I had forgot all about these beautiful dolls.  I remember the first time I saw one.  She was outside in her owner's backyard, wearing coveralls and was upset because her owner expected her to clean up after the dog.  Because she took her owner's credit card and spent all the money on it buying clothes!  It was too funny!  So, that was how I was introduced to this doll.  She's poised, old fashioned and humble.  Her name is Dottie, and she was friend to Kitty Collier, who incidently was made as an 18" doll.  Later she was also made into the 10" doll I've come to  know as Tiny Kitty.  She was very sweet and she had her own style.  Kind of set back into the time where women wore hats and gloves.  When I first got her, I let her keep her name because she was the first one...

When she first came to my home, I took her right out the box!  This is Dottie.

I combed out her hair and redressed her right away.  She's wearing a Barbie inspired outfit.
I always take pictures of them before I remove them from the box.

This is the third doll, she was renamed Juliette.

Juliet wearing a Barbie ensemble.

My second Dottie, she was renamed Thea.

Here's Dottie again.  I really love how she looks in Barbie's outfits.

I can't remember what I renamed this doll, but she became Juliette's BFF!

Tiny Kitty memories.  I don't even have any photos of her on my other blogger.  I just took pictures, got them developed and put them in a photo album.  I am such a bad mother!  I had forgotten all about them.  If I hadn't seen the photo album......
Anyway, after all these years later, finding out that Robert Tonner had stopped making these dolls, now trying to find them and buy them will cost me a mint!  They're just so expensive!  I did find a couple of them on Ebay, but I don't have the funds to get them. (Bummer)  I'll just have to hang in there until I have enough funds to at least buy one.  Someone on Ebay made me an offer on a doll that I was watching.  From $88.00 to $82.00 - wow! What a price difference!  And for a used doll at that - even though she comes in her original box.  I found one store that still has at least 4 of them (I'm not posting it here!).  If I can hold on until the end of October, I might still be able to purchase her from the store.  Of course, I'd love a Dottie or a Juliette.  But I'll just start with who I saw.  I also found a person on Ebay, who crochets similar outfits for Tiny Kitty that I'll need to buy.  I like my dolls dressed in regular clothes.
All for now!  Stay safe, protected and STAY BLESSED!
